Chained Soldier, titled Mato Seihei no Slave in Japan, is a manga series created by Takahiro with illustrations by Yohei Takemura. Serialization began on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online platform in January 2019. An anime TV series adaptation produced by Seven Arcs debuted in January 2024.
Synopsis
In the unearthly realm of “Mato,” a dimension teeming with malevolent entities, an enigmatic species of “nectarine” tree has unfurled its branches. This arboreal entity bears fruits endowed with extraordinary capabilities, bestowing unique strengths upon those who partake. Remarkably, this phenomenon extends exclusively to the female populace, thereby catalyzing a seismic shift in societal dynamics. Women ascend to a paramount role as guardians of humanity, relegating their male counterparts to a subordinate status, grappling for mere sustenance and recognition. Enter Yuuki Wakura, an adept high school senior navigating the intricacies of domesticity, haunted by the abduction of his sister during a Mato manifestation half a decade past.
While contending with the daunting prospects ahead, Yuuki finds himself thrust into a surreal encounter. Amidst a crisis, he becomes the focal point of an event unfolding before him. Captain Kyouka, a stalwart leader within the Anti-Demon Corps, intervenes to rescue him from the clutches of demonic adversaries. In a paradigm-shifting twist, she imparts upon him extraordinary abilities, effectively designating him as her “thrall.” Yuuki, now transformed into a formidable creature, serves as a formidable mount, ruthlessly decimating the encroaching hordes of monsters.
Yet, this newfound empowerment comes at an unforeseen cost, and intriguingly, it is not Yuuki who bears the brunt of this consequence. The intricacies of the symbiotic relationship between the captor and the captive unfurl, casting an enigmatic shadow over the trajectory of Yuuki’s destiny.

Kyoka Uzen
The boss of the 7th program of the Demon Defense Force. He has a past where his hometown was destroyed by ugly demons, and his goal is to eradicate ugly demons. He uses his ability “Infinite Chain” (Slave) to use Yuki.
Yuki Wakura
When he was in his third year of high school, he wandered into the Demon Capital, was attacked by an ugly demon, was saved by Kyoka, and became a slave and the manager of the Demon Defense Force. He is good at all household chores.
Marin Azuma
Vice-chairman of the seventh program. He is infatuated with Kyoka. He doesn’t think well of Yuki, who is a man, and sometimes hits him too hard, but he recognizes Yuki’s strength in battle.
Shuzu Suruga
Seven program members. He has a curious personality and is also very interested in Yuki. He overwhelms the ugly demon with the “Jade Body Revolution” (paradigm shift) that changes the size of his body.
Izumo Tenka
Six program boss. She cares about Yuki, calling him “slave-kun.” He manipulates space with “Amenomitori”.
Higashi Yachiho
Six program vice-chairman. She is Hinamari’s older sister and is particular about Azuma’s family name. She has the ability to manipulate time.

Chained Soldier Anime Details
In November 2021, an anime television series adaptation of the mentioned series was officially announced to be in development by Seven Arcs. The series is under the direction of Gorō Kuji, with Junji Nishimura serving as the general director. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is responsible for handling the series composition, while Ryota Kanō and Akira Kindaichi are credited for writing the scripts. Hiroyuki Yoshii is the designer for the characters, and Kohta Yamamoto is composing the music.
Originally slated for a 2023 release, the anime faced delays,ultimately premiering on January 4, 2024, on AT-X and various other networks. The opening theme, titled “Yume no Ito” (夢の糸, “String of Dreams”), is performed by Akari Kitō, and the ending theme, “Chain,” is performed by Maaya Uchida.
Sentai Filmworks has secured the licensing rights for the series, making it available for uncensored streaming on Hidive. Additionally, Muse Communication holds the license for the series in South and Southeast Asia.

In Japan, gates called “Kunado” that lead to the otherworldly “Demon City” have appeared in various places. In the demon city, there were “ugly demons” that attacked humans and “peaches” that gave unique abilities only to women. One day, Yuki Wakura wanders into the Demon Capital due to a gate that suddenly appears. There, she meets Kyoka Uzen, the leader of the Nanacho division of the organization
“Mahoutai” to counter the threat of the demon city. The two escape from their predicament by strengthening her girlfriend Yuki with the ability of “Infinite Chains (Slave)” which enslaves others. In return for her ability, Yuki will receive a reward…
Chained Soldier Episode 2:Interest, vermilion, skin kicking
Yuki ends up working as the manager of the Seven Program Dormitory in Mato. While she spends her days doing her housework, Yuki ends up seizing upon her weakness and becoming her slave. One day, when Yuki and Akane are alone, a giant ugly demon attacks their dormitory. Shu Shu fights back with the ability to change the size of his body, “Paradigm Shift”, but he gradually begins to be pushed back. In Kyoka’s absence to help Akane, Yuki tries to transform herself somehow. Will Yuki be able to help Shu? ?
