Personality
Rafale had a deeply unpleasant personality, viewing people as mere instruments for his own purposes. His ultimate goal was to overthrow the existing order, which he believed was controlled by those with specific skills, and replace it with a world dominated by his own kind. In his vision, this new world would be one where everyone was on equal footing.
His callousness extended even to his own siblings, whom he regarded as nothing more than pawns to be manipulated. He showed no empathy when his brother, Hado, met his demise, and he exhibited no remorse for using his sister, Memil, as a subject in experiments to transform her into a vampire.
Background
The Vlerick family initially had no heir, but the former head had an affair with a certain woman who gave birth to a child – that child being Rafale. Initially, the former head was overjoyed to have a son and eventually married the woman, Lina. For a short period, Rafale and his mother enjoyed a happy life together. However, Rafale’s father continued to seek relationships with other women because Lina was a commoner and had a frail constitution. She fell ill after giving birth to Rafale and tragically passed away a few years later.
Regrettably, when Rafale was still young, his father told him a false story, claiming that his mother had died from an epidemic when, in truth, his father had murdered her. Rafale was also forbidden from seeing his mother, supposedly to prevent the spread of the disease, and she was placed inside a glass container.
One day, when Rafale was just twelve years old, he followed his father, who had been suspiciously bringing back young women. There, he witnessed a horrifying scene – his father callously placing a recently murdered young woman into a glass container, seemingly deriving pleasure from it.
In that room, many women were kept, and among them, Rafale made a shocking discovery – he found his beloved mother, whom he had cherished deeply during his earlier years. This traumatic incident completely changed Rafale. He harbored a profound hatred for his father, who had murdered his wife. Rafale, being a half-blood child, was treated as nothing more than insurance in case something happened to Hado, his sibling.
Abilities
Rafale’s true form was Arch Demon.
Rafale Vlerick/Relationships
Fate Barbatos: Rafale held a strong and deep-seated hatred for Fate, which led him to subject Fate to relentless bullying. This animosity was fueled in part because Fate, like Rafale’s mother, was a commoner. Tragically, their enmity eventually escalated to the point where Fate sought vengeance against Rafale and took his life.
Hado Vlerick: Hado and Rafale did not share the same mother, and their relationship was far from brotherly. Rafale viewed Hado as a mere tool, using him for his own purposes. In a disturbing turn of events, Rafale even provided Hado with his own blood to transform him into a monstrous entity. He displayed no care for Hado and quickly moved on when Hado met his demise.
Memil Vlerick: Memil was Rafale’s stepsister, but Rafale never saw her as a true sibling. He couldn’t bring himself to accept the daughter of a woman who had displaced his own mother. Instead, Rafale regarded Memil as nothing more than a means to bolster his own power. In a chilling betrayal, he remorselessly conducted experiments on his own sister, turning her into a vampire.
