Memil Barbatos/ Memil Vlerick

Memil Barbatos, previously known as Memil Vlerick, is a character from the series “Berserk of Gluttony.” She was once a Holy Knight and the youngest of the Vlerick Family’s three siblings. However, her older brothers betrayed her. Following her brother Rafale’s betrayal and subsequent demise, she was taken in as the adopted daughter of Aaron Barbatos.

At present, she works as a maid for the Barbatos Family. It’s worth noting that due to Rafale’s experiments on her, she also underwent a transformation into a vampire.

Appearance:

Memil’s appearance in the past and her transformation over time is quite notable. In her earlier days, she, along with her brothers, would cruelly mistreat the poor who worked for their family. However, her encounter with Fate led to a remarkable change in her personality. Unlike her brothers, she began to feel remorse for her past actions. She lost respect for Rafale due to his intentions to destroy the capital and for Hado because of his mistreatment of people.

She also offered a heartfelt apology to Fate for her previous misdeeds, which occurred following the betrayal by her brothers. It’s important to mention that after becoming a vampire, she developed a peculiar tendency for bloodsucking, particularly when she bit and sucked Fate’s blood.

Background:

Memil was born into the Vlerick family, one of the five noble families in Seifort. She was entrusted with overseeing a research facility where monsters that fed on humans were kept. Simultaneously, she found herself confined in the facility, subjected to regular blood sampling, as Rafale required her blood for his experiments. However, her life took a dramatic turn when she was betrayed by Rafale and Hado, resulting in her transformation into a vampire due to her brother Rafale’s experiments.

Following her rescue by Fate and Aaron, Memil embraced a new role as a maid in the Barbatos Family.

Memil’s relationship with Fate Barbatos began on a sour note as she had been rude to him in the past, making her one of the individuals who had previously bullied Fate. However, her attitude towards Fate underwent a significant transformation after he came to her rescue when Rafale Vlerick betrayed her.

Following an incident where Fate apologized to Memil for the actions that led to the death of her brothers, due to their wrongdoings, she harbored no ill feelings towards Fate. In fact, she also extended her own apology to Fate for her previous misconduct, which had stemmed from her newfound resentment towards her own brothers, who had betrayed her.

Hado Vlerick, who happened to be Memil’s older brother, used to share a loving sibling relationship with her. However, her affection for him waned as she witnessed his mistreatment of others and his alignment with Rafale’s act of betrayal. Memil’s sentiments towards Hado transformed into deep-seated hatred, considering him a traitor for his actions.

Rafale Vlerick, initially viewed as Memil’s stepbrother and someone she genuinely cared for, was the recipient of her admiration. She obediently followed Rafale’s guidance, which often involved looking down upon others. She once held strong affection for her stepbrother, in contrast to Rafale, who regarded her merely as a means to augment his own power. Nevertheless, Memil’s perception of Rafale took a drastic turn when he conducted experiments on her to transform her into a vampire. This betrayal shattered her respect and affection for him, replacing them with an intense hatred. Rafale was no longer her trusted stepbrother but rather a traitor in her eyes.
